Horsham Equipment Pilates

In Summer 2021, Total Therapy Studios launched Horsham Equipment Pilates, based at our Denne Parade practice.

Pilates is a great way to improve flexibility, muscle tone and balance, and our extensive timetable of matwork classes have supported the local community for over ten years. We're now proud to compliment our matwork provision with our equipment studio where you'll be able to complete sessions to work on your overall movement.

Building on the range of small portable equipment such as resistance bands, magic circles and weights, we've the core range of larger equipment too. This includes reformers, cadilllacs, barrels and chairs, along with with a weight tower to create a great environment for exercise - all under the guidance and focus of our expert instructors.

Equipment Pilates can work either to compliment to an existing exercise programme, or form the basis of your movement fitness. We are able to support beginners and experts alike, and have a range of pricing/attendance profiles so you can find what you're looking for. And as always, we're always on hand to answer any questions you might have. Just call 01403 249 511 to speak to a member of our team.

In Autumn 2023 we have added a huge number of classes onto our timetable, taking the number of matwork and Equipment Pilates / Reformer sessions we do to 80 every week. There's never been a better time to join us, with reserved spaces available on most of our classes. So why not get in contact today?

Ultimately the Pilates system of exercise is based around resistance. When doing Pilates on a mat or using Pilates equipment the amount of resistance and tension can often vary. This is due to either the body position, or use of small apparatus such as bands.
However, by using a reformer, cadilllac, weight stack, or other equipment this can be consistently regulated. Everything is designed to create planes of movement within which you can complete the exercises. The adjustable levels of resistance mean that you can progress your exercise in a very consistent way, ensuring a discipline of movement, and clearly demonstrable improvements.
There are over 500 documented exercises on the reformer alone, and with different variations of each of these in terms of position and resistance it's possible to tailor your exercise almost infinitely to create the right session for you.
